“The very first thing you need to be thinking about when you go into your YouTube Studio, you remember how at the channel level we’re like, you’re doing month over month, make sure you’re picking the right month, pick July. This is the same theory where a lot of people get in trouble, Dane. When they’re trying to compare video metrics, is that they try to compare a video that’s been up for five years to a video that went up 24 hours ago. And they freak out because they’re like, why isn’t this video doing as well as that one? It’s really important that you’re setting the same date range. And I don’t mean the same date range as July 1st through July 7th, 2021. I mean the first week of the life of that video. I recommend the first week because it’s short enough that people who are impatient can still get the data and learn from it fairly quickly. But it’s long enough that you get a fairly decent lifespan of that video. If you just did the first 48 hours, it’s just going to be super fans.”
